An event aimed at promoting healthy living and showcasing environmentally friendly businesses has been postponed until the new year.

The Living Green Expo hosted by Greenrock, an environmental charity, that was due to be held today will now take place on January 28.

The free family event will include a host of mind and body activities, including yoga, qigong, a 25km bike ride and cycle race from City Hall to Dockyard, a 5km walk and run through Dockyard and Ireland Island, a green vendor village, a vegan food court and an automotive show for zero-emission vehicles.

It will be hosted at The Shed in Dockyard from 10am to 6pm.

Organisers said: “The living Green Expo has been developed to provide a public platform for businesses in the green economy to showcase natural, holistic, sustainable and environmentally friendly products and services to the broader community.

“The event is designed to encourage growth and collaboration within the industry while creating educational opportunities by sharing innovative ideas and demonstrating simple methods that inspire us to live naturally and think sustainably each and every day.“

Application and registration dates for vendors have been extended to December 29, so vendors who were unavailable in November can go to the Greenrock website and apply to participate in the new year.

Online registration for the mind and body activities associated with the expo have been extended until January 27, so individuals, companies, schools and community organisations wishing to participate in the team competition can visit the website to sign up.

Sponsorship opportunities associated with the Living Green Expo remain available.

Registration for the mind and body activities is $25, with special rates available for schools. Vendor registration is free for non-profit organisations, and booths for businesses and entrepreneurs range from $150 to $500, depending on the size.
