Family-friendly events for green exhibition in Dockyard
A series of family friendly activities is planned by the environmental group Greenrock for its Living Green Expo on January 28.
The expo in Dockyard, which will showcase natural and sustainable living, comes with a 5K Walk & Run in Dockyard and a 25K Bike Ride from Hamilton to Dockyard at 10am.
There will be an open yoga practice as well as a class in qigong in Dockyard at the same time.
A $25 contribution is required to register for each activity, which includes locally printed, eco-friendly T-shirts and sports bags.
Families, schools, companies and community groups are encouraged to support Greenrock by registering teams of ten or more people.
School teams will get special rates, at $5 for students and $10 for faculty and staff.
Prizes will be awarded to the largest and fastest teams in each category.
Registration is available on the Greenrock site, with the walk and run and bike ride also listed on the Raceday World site.
More than 100 volunteers are needed, with an online form to register at the Greenrock website.
Guests are encouraged to bring bottles for use at the expo’s free water stations.
China, cutlery and a dishwashing station will be provided in the food court to reduce waste.
To sponsor the expo or participate as a vendor, contact Greenrock by January 22.
