Volunteers help BAMZ in clean-up

Team spirit: almost 30 volunteers from Allied World helped in the clean-up (Photograph supplied)

The Bermuda Aquarium, Museum and Zoo was given a spruce-up by volunteers from insurance company Allied World this month.

Almost 30 company employees spent an afternoon cleaning out animal exhibits, picking up litter along the coastal walkway and bottling jars of locally produced honey.

Colm Singleton, head of the company’s Bermuda office, said: “Allied World is proud to support this great organisation.

“Our team enjoyed going behind the scenes to help for the afternoon.”

Joanne Chisnall, a volunteer engagement officer at the Bermuda Zoological Society — the main charity that supports BAMZ — added: “It was great to see enthusiastic people turn out and give their support of our organisation and facility.

“Allied World team’s enthusiasm was infectious as they worked through a hot humid day.”
