Bermuda riders impress in New York
A trio of local junior dressage riders delivered impressive performances at the Youth Dressage Festival in Saugerties, New York.
Robin Stempel, Kelsey Amos and Maya DaSilveria represented the Bermuda Dressage Group at the competition, which ran from July 13 to 16.
Stempel riding her new horse, Rossano Royal 2, came second in the Third Level Division, while Kelsey Amos, riding Queen’s Faithfully, finished first in the FEI Children’s Division and fourth in the First Level Division 12-15 years. Amos was also awarded the UVM Roseanna Memorial Trophy for the highest score achieved while competing on a Morgan-bred horse.
DaSilveria, riding Mae West, placed second in the Walk, Trot and Canter Under-12 Division.
The Bermuda team finished third overall in their division and twelfth out of 45 teams.
Angela Halloran-Smith, the Bermuda dressage coach, who accompanied the three young dressage riders, said she was extremely pleased with their performances.
