Third event of FEI Jumping Challenge finally gets under way
The Bermuda Equestrian Federation will hold Competition No 3 of the 2020 FEI Jumping World Challenge today at the National Equestrian Centre.
The challenge comprises three separate competitions. Competitions 1 and 2 of the Bermuda rounds were successfully held in February. However, because of the global pandemic, Competition 3 was forced to be postponed.
An overseas FEI judge as well, as a local FEI judge, is required to adjudicate the third and final competition. But, as a result of travel restrictions, the FEI has authorised this event to be judged solely by Bermuda’s Judith Hagen, an FEI Level 3 Jumper Judge.
The FEI Jumping Challenge is a highlight on Bermuda’s equestrian calendar. The challenge provides an opportunity for local riders to compete in an international competition without having to travel overseas.
Riders from around the world compete over an identical jumping course designed by an FEI-appointed course designer. This year’s jumping courses were designed FEI level 3 course designer Christoph Johnen, of Germany.
