Kimoy Cruickshank will be representing Bermuda in Guadeloupe next month

Three Bermudian equestrians are heading to Guadeloupe to compete in the fourth and final leg of the 2023-2024 Grand Caraibe Tour.

Representing the island at the upcoming championship, which will be held from May 8 to May 12, will be Sierra Wolfe, Emma Kempe and Kimoy Cruickshank. Wolfe and Kempe will be competing in the event for the first time while Cruickshank has previous experience in the competition after competing in Suriname and Martinique.

Coached by Bermudian Grand Prix rider, Raishun Burch, the team will be managed by Caribbean Equestrian Association president and FEI Official, Heidi Shelley Mello.

The event in Guadaloupe will bring together riders from Guadeloupe, Martinique, Guyana, Suriname, Barbados, St. Martin, Antigua, Haiti, Jamaica, and Bermuda, with competitors taking part on local, loaned horses for the duration of the competition.

The Grand Caraibe Equestrian competition is held over a two-day period, with the first day consisting of a speed class at various jump heights and the second day made up of “jump off” classes, again at varying heights.

The 2023-24 Grand Caraibe tour is made up of four events, with Bermuda missing the first competition held in French Guiana in October, but taking part in Suriname and Martinique.
