Abby Bardgett claimed top honours at World Jumping Challenge

The 2025 FEI Jumping World Challenge continued at the National Equestrian Centre on Saturday.

The second stage of the competition for Bermuda’s showjumpers took place on courses designed by judges Marina Azevedo and Erica Sportiello of Brazil, and Cristina Larangeiro, from Portugal.

The event allows riders to compete in their own country against other nations doing the same and it was Jaylynn Hines and Toto D’ysenbeeck 2, who came out on top of the Bermuda contingent in the 1.20-1.30m division. Abby Bardgett on board Causing Chaos placed second. The team incurred a combined score of 8 faults over the two rounds of jumping.

Bardgett went one place better, this time riding Cruise Control, In the 1.10-1.20m category with a combined score of 8 faults and a time of 55.68 seconds in the second round.

Bardgett again impressed In the 1.00-1.10m division on her mount Up Up & Away with double clear rounds and an impressive time of 55.21 in the second round. Kamali Tucker, riding Tugano Van Klupscheut, also had two clear rounds and a time of 64.27 seconds. Third place went to Michael Rodrigues on Rambo, with fourth place awarded to Georgia Hughes riding Casichacco.

Judging the competition was Bermuda’s FEI Level 1 Judge Pamela Mahoney. The third and final round of the Jumping World Challenge is scheduled to take place at Bermuda’s National Equestrian Centre on Saturday, March 22.
