Hamilton to bring back Summer Sunday event next month

The City of Hamilton is planning to get festive next month with the return of its popular Summer Sunday: City Funday event in Victoria Park.

The free event, scheduled to take place between 1pm and 6pm on July 14, will feature live entertainment, fair games, and a range of food and drink vendors, besides a host of activities for all ages.

A spokeswoman for the City said: “This year we’ve amped up the fun, food and festivities to create another unforgettable City experience.

“We invite attendees to try their hand at dozens of carnival games, dance along to the beat of the Gombeys, and savour the delights of local vendor favourites.

“Summer Sunday 2024 promises to be an exhilarating celebration of community and fun, cultivating memories that will last a lifetime.”

Among the entertainers lined up for the event are the Tino Martinez Quartet, the H&H Gombeys and DIA, with Ed Christopher, the town crier, and Patrina “Power Girl” O’Connor handling hosting duties.

In the event of rain, the event will be pushed back one week until July 21.
