Rainbow sponsor continues support for Pride Bermuda
Several days in celebration of the island’s LGBTQ+ community, which kick off later this month with an array of events for Bermuda Pride, will once again have the backing of the charitable wing of a major global insurer.
The QBE Foundation is among the rainbow sponsors of this year’s Pride activities from August 28 to September 1.
Running under the theme of “Family Affair”, the series of events — now in its sixth year — will encompass parades, panel discussions and celebrations, with support from a string of companies.
Bermuda Pride said the “significant” continued support of the QBE Foundation “plays a crucial role in helping us promote and celebrate the diversity that makes our island unique”.
The organisation’s lead fundraiser, Ciara Izuchukwu, said the group was "incredibly thankful to the QBE Foundation for their ongoing support and commitment to fostering inclusivity in Bermuda“.
She added: “Their sponsorship not only helps us in organising events, but also strengthens our efforts to create a community where everyone feels they belong.”
The foundation said it was “very happy to continue with our rainbow sponsorship of Bermuda Pride, which we hope will allow us all to build a more resilient future for our island, where everyone has a sense of belonging in a society that is fully inclusive and acknowledges and respects the diversity of its people”.
It added: “We look forward to the events of the next few weeks promoting and celebrating all of the wonderful diversity that exists in our community."
