Trott and Butterfield top qualifying in 100m

Natasha Trott, the Bermuda sprinter, was the fastest qualifier in the women’s 100 metres heats at the NatWest Island Games in Jersey yesterday.
Trott, who claimed silver in the 100m two years ago in Bermuda at the National Stadium, National Sports Centre, finished her heat in 12.42sec.
Taahira Butterfield won her heat and claimed the second-fastest qualifying time with a 12.45sec finish.
Faye Cox, of the Shetland Islands, was the third-fastest qualifier in 12.60.
The finals at FB Fields will take place today at 2.50pm Bermuda time.
