4.35pm: Bermuda have broken back into the medal column with a strong performance in the women’s cycling road race. Gabriella Arnold took bronze and teammate Karen Bordage finished fifth. The cumulative results gave Bermuda silver in the team event.

Zoenique Williams crashed early on in the race but is not badly injured.

4.30pm: In shooting, Raymond Beaulne finished 30th in the Automatic Ball Trap event.

4.25pm: Bermuda’s indoor volleyball women swept Isle of Man in three sets, winning 25-14, 25-10, 25-12.

In tennis, Jack Keyes and Chris Weekes were unable to capitalise on a promising start in their first doubles matchup and lost to Marc Chinn and Jack Hedges of Isle of Man 7-6, 3-6, 0-1.

3.50pm: David Thomas was unable to join teammate Gavin Manders in the men’s tennis singles quarter-finals after a defeat against fourth seed Patrick Oiger of Guernsey. Manders had high praise for Thomas, saying: “He showed great fight, and represented Bermuda like a true champion.”

Jack Keyes and Chris Weekes, both eliminated from the singles competition, are faring well in doubles, up 1-0 in the second set against Marc Chinn and Jack Hedges of Isle of Man after winning the first set 7-6.

3.30pm: In the archery, Bernard Wade III finished fourth in the men’s 720 Recurve. Wade scored 571, with the gold medal going Absalo Hansen, of Faroe Islands, with a 605 total. Bermuda’s other archer, Robert O’Connor finished 30th with 465.

Bermuda’s men have lost their second game of the day in the beach volleyball. Eric Haller and Gary LeBlanc lost 21-13, 21-9 to Francesc Bagur Catala and Jose Maria de Olivar Romeo of Menorca.

2.30pm: Kalin Hillier is lying third in the overall standings with one race remaining in the Laser Standard event. The Bermuda sailor is only a point out of the silver position, with Harry Blowers, of the Isle of Wight, just ahead of him on 23 pts. Barring a disaster in the final race, gold should go to Eiffon Mon of Anglesey, who has 13 pts.

2pm: Bermuda’s women are getting ready to start the road race in the cycling. The event has been reduced from five laps to four because of the heat wave the island is experiencing. They’ve had highs of 91° in places today.

1.45pm: The men’s Sport Trap Individual shooting event has wrapped up with Andrew Pereira in 18th with 68 points, Brian Mello in 28th with 51 points, and Terence Madeiros in 30th with 46 points.

Winning gold was Jonathan de la Haye of Jersey with 90 points.

The women’s cycling Road Race event is due to start at 2pm Bermuda time. Gabriella Arnold, Karen Bordage, and Zoenique Williams will be in action for Bermuda.

1:30pm: Gavin Manders is through to the tennis singles quarter-finals after beating third seed David Parry of Ynys Mon in straight sets. Manders won 6-2, 6-1 for the convincing victory.

David Thomas is in action shortly against fourth seed Patrick Ogier of Guernsey.

1pm: Emma Calow bowed out in the quarter-finals of the women’s badminton singles, losing 21-15, 21-13 to first seed Rannva Djurhuus Carlsson of the Faroe Islands.

12pm: Dominique Mayho led Bermuda’s cyclists in the men’s Road Race, finishing 20th. Mayho left the pack early to chase the front-runners and almost succeeded, but was eventually caught by the chasing group and finished the 112km race in a time of 2hr 58min 58sec. Che’quan Richardson came 34th and Robert Glasford didn’t finish.

Jack Keyes gave top-seed Scott Clayton of Jersey a fight in the men’s tennis singles Round of 16 but lost 6-3, 6-1. Gavin Manders and David Thomas are in action later today as Bermuda’s two remaining singles bids.

11.45am: Bermuda’s basketball team claimed another convincing victory, winning 79-43 over Gotland.

11.30am: It’s been an exciting morning so far, with several positive results from team Bermuda.

The men’s individual golf event finished it’s first round of four this morning. Will Haddrell sits in second with a score of 69, trailing leader Daniel Blondel of Jersey by just two points. Mark Phillips sits tied for eighth with 74 points, with Damian Palanyandi right behind him tied for 11th with 75. Jarryd Dillas is in 21st with 79.

The men are second in the team event.

The Bermuda women’s golf team are currently fourth overall, with Ebonie Burgess leading the way in tenth with a score of 82. Katrin Burnie is in 13th with 83, and Elizabeth Parsons 17th with 85. Linda Down is in 28th with 94 in the first round.

Bermuda’s tennis men got off to a strong start, with all three winning their round of 32 singles matches. Jack Keyes defeated sixteenth seed Nicholas Petersson 2-1, Gavin Manders beat Jonathan Foulkes 2-0, and David Thomas won against Michael Foulkes 2-0.

Keyes has a tough draw coming up in the round of 16 as he will square off against top seed Scott Clayton of Jersey.

Emma Calow is through to the quarter-finals in the women’s badminton singles after a 2-0 win over Hedvig Broberg of Greenland. Calow will be in action later today against top seed Rannva Djurhuus Carlsson of the Faroe Islands.

In men’s badminton doubles, Rohan Pai and Michael Palmer went down to a pair from Jersey in the round of 16 0-2.

In sailing, Kalin Hillier surrendered his spot in first place of the Laser Standard event, but is still in podium position with two races to go, sitting at third place. David Hillier is in 18th.

Bermuda’s beach volleyball women rebounded after a tough day yesterday to beat the Faroe Islands 21-18, 21-11. This puts them at 1-4 in the group stage with a match against Cayman tomorrow.

Bermuda’s men went down to Saaremaa 0-2. They stand at 2-2 in their group action with three matches.

Bermuda’s sailboarding team sits in fourth overall, with David Kendell making his way up the individual rankings to fifth place with six races to go. Scott Mello sits at 12th, Matthew Wilken 15th, and Alexander Jones 16th.
