4pm: That’s it for our coverage from this week of the Games.

2.45pm: More results from today’s action as the closing ceremony is underway in Jersey:

Adrienne Smatt broke into the medal column in shooting, winning silver in the Women’s 50m Prone Smallbore Rifle event in a very close finish. Smatt trailed winner Jehnny Gardelin of Gotland by less than a point, finishing with 595.3.

In women’s golf, Ebonie Burgess shot 86 in the final round to finish sixth. Elizabeth parsons finished 13th, Katrin Burnie 20th, and Linda Down 24th.

The women’s team finished fifth overall. Hosts Jersey won gold easily, shooting 953 total over their four rounds.

1.30pm: Bermuda’s run of basketball gold medals at the Island Games stops at three. Saaremaa pulled away in the fourth quarter and triumphed 80-69 in a hard-fought game to take gold. Bermuda receive silver.

1.10pm: Bermuda’s men’s golf foursome of Will Haddrell, Damian Palanyandi, Mark Phillips, and Jarryd Dillas took bronze in the men’s team event this morning.

Haddrell shot 290 over the four-round competition to finish just one point off the podium, tied in fifth. Damian Palanyandi and Mark Phillips shot 293 and 295, finishing seventh and ninth to give Bermuda three finishers in the top ten. Jarryd Dillas finished 31st with 325.

Tom Harris of Isle of Man took gold individually, shooting 280, and combined with his teammates to win gold in the team event.

1pm: Saaremaa have jumped ahead and lead 53-48 going into the final quarter.

12.45pm: Saaremaa have pulled even in a defensive struggle at 39-39 midway through the third quarter.

12.25pm: The halftime score is 33-31 for Bermuda in a tight battle against Saaremaa for gold in the men’s basketball final.

12.10pm: Bermuda has the edge on Saaremaa in what is shaping up to be a tight gold medal showdown between the two in men’s basketball. Bermuda holds a slim 25-21 lead midway through the second quarter.

11.30am: The golf is winding its way towards a tight finish in the men’s event, with Will Haddrell, the Bermuda captain, still out on the course battling for gold. The women, meanwhile, have finished their event, with Ebonie Burgess topping the Bermuda contingent in sixth. Elizabeth Parsons finished 13th, Katrin Burnie 20th and Linda Down 24th in the individual standings.

In the team event the Bermuda women finished fifth.

10.20am: Confirmation of the results in this morning’s women’s 5,000m. Gold went to Sarah Mercier of Guernsey in 17min 03.75sec, with Katie Bristow of Shetland Islands taking silver 17:17.56, and bronze went to Marna Leila Vandsdal Egholm of Faroe Islands, who finished in 17:44.45. Bermuda’s Deon Breary was ninth in a time of 19:29.41.

Bermuda’s women have finally collected their bronze medals in the women’s team event of the Town Centre Criterium.

9.20am: Bermuda’s men have lost their bronze medal match in the volleyball 3-0 to Aland, going down 25-18, 25-14, 25-18.

Elsewhere, Deon Breary ran in the women’s 5,000m, which was won by Sarah Mercier of Guernsey.

Don’t forget, Bermuda will be chasing a fourth gold in the men’s basketball later against Saaremaa. The game starts at 11.30am Bermuda time.

8.20am: Well, it’s already been quite a morning for Bermuda. Chris Estwanik has raced to victory in the 10,000m, finishing in 30min 44.06sec, with Isle of Man’s Kevin Loundes second in 30:53.28, and his fellow countryman Alan Corlett taking bronze in 32:24.70.

Meanwhile, the controversial end to the women’s cycling yesterday has finally been resolved. Jersey’s appeal on their one-lap penalty in the Town Centre Criterium has been upheld. It means that Kim Ashton claims gold for the host nation, while Bermuda have taken bronze in the team event. We’re still waiting for official results.
