Experts are predicting that nautical tops, floral prints and silver accessories will all be huge hits this summer.

Another really big trend for 2015? Practically anything in white.

Lifestyle caught up with three well-dressed people this week to find out their top reasons for boasting the fresh shade this season.

Alyssa Rose believes you can’t go wrong when wearing all white.

“I try not to be too matchy with it by adding a pop of colour with my shoes or a bag in a bright blue or red, but all white outfits work really great,” the 22-year-old said.

“White is great because it goes with everything. You can match any colour with it. Plus, it’s very light, cool and airy for this time of year.”

Miss Rose, a master’s student, described her typical style as chic and classic.

“I’m very simple and love wearing all white or all black looks, but I might add a statement piece as well and dress it up or add accessories like this bright blue bag or a chunky over-the-top necklace from Zara.

“I like chic pieces and for everything to look streamlined and classy. I’m not into grunge or things like that.”

She gets most of her inspiration from sites like Tumblr; and from street fashion in England.

“Everyone is really creative and free in the UK and it’s not like Bermuda where I feel like a lot of people are worried about what other people will think. It’s pretty common for people to wear something ‘out there’ or ‘extraordinary’. They also have lots of boutiques and shopping options.”

Raven Pearman, 21, said she likes white because it’s very clean and light looking. It can also be easily paired with something colourful, the college student said.

She tends to dress according to how she feels on any given day.

“Some days I wear all black and other days if I want to wear a peach dress with flowers on it I will. I all depends on my mood when I wake up,” she explained.

“I’m always on Pinterest. I usually base my look on my hair style so I look for people on there with really short hair and see how they style their outfits.

“I feel like short hair just brings your whole outfit together. If your hair looks weird it just throws off your style.”

Gary Saltus, 63, suggests white can also be a practical colour for men. “It keeps you cool in the summer. It’s also exciting. It’s a colour that represents purity,” he said.

“I don’t wear a lot of it, but when I do I really feel comfortable in it.”

Mr Saltus, the owner of Flowers by GiMi, said his style is usually smart-casual.

“From Monday to Thursday you’ll find me dressed in something quite smart, but then on Fridays it’s a different look. I dress down. It’s still casual and chic, but maybe jeans and a jacket.”

He’s mostly inspired by European fashion and said he prefers a slim fit to more bulky men’s styles offered in the US.
