Get set for Dudley Eve double-header at Devonshire Rec

Hamilton Parish coach Sergio Goater hoping side can follow up 6-1 win against Wolves

Group A of the Dudley Eve Trophy will go a long way to being decided on Friday night with all four teams in action.

Devonshire Rec is be the place to be for those wanting a sporting start to the weekend as Wolves take on PHC (7pm) before Dandy Town play Hamilton Parish (9pm)

Heading into the second round of matches, it is Parish sitting proudly atop the group after they beat Premier Division newcomers Wolves 6-1 in their opening game in the competition last week.

Parish, who were beaten in the semi-final of this competition last year, could have a potent strike force this season with Leroy Lewis, who scored four goals against Wolves, back on island and ready to play a big part.

Sergio Goater’s side will be looking to follow up last week’s big win against Town, who drew 1-1 with PHC in their opening Dudley Eve encounter.

That match was Kyle Lightbourne’s first competitive game in charge of Town and the former national coach would have liked plenty of what he saw against the reigning league champions.

Only a slip in the box from Town defender Edry Moore, which allowed PHC’s Kadeem Abraham to equalise in the 75th minute, prevented Lightbourne from starting his tenure with a win and a run to the latter stages of the competition is probably expected as the club look to bounce back from a disappointing campaign last season.
