Hamilton Parish Workmen’s Club restart youth football programme

Youngsters training at Shelly Bay with Hamilton Parish

Hamilton Parish Workmen’s Club has resumed its youth football programme to help foster a love of sport within the local community.

The programme is initially aimed at children aged between 2 and 5 with the emphasis placed on teamwork and having fun as the island’s youngest footballing talents develop their skills.

Coach Makhail Saltus led the first training session on Wednesday at Shelly Bay Community Park, with the experience hugely positive for both children and their parents, and Hamilton Parish Workmen’s Club president Nandi Outerbridge is delighted to get the programme up and running.

“The return of our youth football programme is about more than just football,” Outerbridge said.

“It’s about building a community of young players and families who share a passion for the sport. We can’t wait to welcome your child into the programme and watch them grow.

Coach Saltus is looking forward to passing on his wisdom to as many children as possible.

“It was a good feeling to be back at Shelly Bay and this season looks like it will be a promising one for our youth programme,” he said.
