North Village forfeit Dudley Eve win after fielding ineligible player

North Village have had their win against Young Men’s Social Club in the Dudley Eve Trophy taken away after they fielded an ineligible player.

Kenny Thompson’s side won the match 1-0 on September 15 thanks to a goal in the 75th minute from Judah Chapman but that game has now been forfeited, with Social Club awarded a 3-0 victory after the Bermuda Association found Village to have broken the rules.

Originally finishing second in group B with four points, the removal of most of their points means last year’s Dudley Eve trophy champions no longer have a chance of making it to the knockout stages of the competition.

Hamilton Parish, Paget and Devonshire Colts are already through to the latter rounds with the final semi-finalist to be determined after the last set of matches in group A on Tuesday night, when Dandy Town take on Wolves (7pm) and PHC take on Hamilton Parish (9pm) at Devonshire Rec.
