Nahki Wells returns to Bermuda squad for Nations League matches
Nahki Wells is returning to the Bermuda squad for the upcoming Nations League matches on home soil.
Wells, who said he was taking a step back from international football in March last year after playing at home against Guyana, features in the squad for two crucial games against Dominica on October 12 and 15.
Bermuda head coach Michael Findlay is delighted that Wells has again made himself available for selection.
“Our selection of Nahki and his acceptance of the invitation obviously is exciting for all of us,” Findlay said.
“We are pleased he has returned to the national team environment after stepping away from the programme for a period and we know he will bring vast experience and several positive elements to the squad.
“This is a testament to the growth and steps we all have been taking at the BFA and the NT Programme with our interest in growing and gaining the results we all wish for Bermuda and its fans.”
Aside from Wells as the headline act, Zeiko Lewis and Reese Jones return to the squad after injury, while North Village defender Seke Spence is called up to the senior squad for the first time.
In Zeiko [Lewis] and Reese [Jones], we have returning players after availability challenges and injury,“ Findlay said.
“Seke [Spence] joins us for his first appearance with the NT Programme, which is a testament to our continued efforts in evaluating and engaging our domestic-based players.
“This provides players with opportunities to prove themselves in the NT environment and on the international stage. We are all looking forward to our matches versus Dominica as we remain focused on our required results in the Concacaf Nations League and our objective to qualify for the 2025 Concacaf Gold Cup.”
