While many eyes will be on the return of Nahki Wells to the Bermuda squad this weekend, the preliminary round of the FA Cup will draw the focus of players and supporters of the island’s Corona League teams.

There are six preliminary-round matches taking place, with the action starting tonight with a double-header at Goose Gosling Field featuring two matches between Corona League sides and First Division Teams.

Vasco da Gama will be looking to avoid being the subject of the first upset in this season’s competition when they take on Tuff Dogs at 7pm.

Tuff Dogs will be looking to repeat last year’s FA Cup heroics, when they beat then Premier Division side X-Roads Warriors on penalties before being knocked out in the quarter-finals 3-1 by Hamilton Parish.

Vasco are seeking their first win of the season after playing just one game in the First Division this season, losing 3-1 to St David’s.

In the other game tonight, Robin Hood make a belated return to competitive action against YGS at 9pm.

New Hood coach Cecoy Robinson has yet to see his side play this season after BAA forfeited their first league match of the season and will be hoping his side show no signs of rust against their Corona League opponents.

There are four matches spread across two venues on Sunday, with St David’s hosting a double-header as the home side takes on FC Rhino at 2pm after X-Roads do battle with Footy Kings at noon.

The other double-header takes place at Goose Gosling Field with Somerset Eagles heading east to take on Inter Bda at noon and Southampton Rangers facing Onions at 2pm.
