LeiLanni Nesbeth, the Chicago Red Stars midfielder, made her debut in the National Women’s Soccer League play-offs in a 4-1 defeat by top seeds Orlando Pride at Inter & Co Stadium last night.

The Bermuda midfielder came off the bench as a 72nd-minute replacement for central defender Cari Roccaro with the visiting side already out of the contest.

The home side dominated the quarter-final throughout and virtually had the game sewn up by the half courtesy of two goals from striker Barbara Banda and one from midfielder Haley Hanson.

Orlando’s legendary Brazil forward Marta made it 4-0 from the penalty spot shortly after the restart when Banda was pulled back before Red Stars striker Jameese Joseph scored a consolation goal from a goalkeeper error to avoid a shutout.
