PHC and St George’s match postponed

Postponed: The Bermuda Football Association has called off the Premier Division match between PHC and St George’s

The Premier Division match between PHC and St George’s Colts, scheduled to kick off at 8pm tonight at PHC Field, has been postponed because of a waterlogged pitch.

A statement from the Bermuda Football Association, sent hours before the scheduled start, confirmed that a new date for the fixture will be determined by the competitions committee.

“The Premier Division match between PHC and St George’s scheduled for tonight has been postponed due to the field being waterlogged,” the BFA said. “We will advise of the new match details once confirmed by the competitions committee.”

PHC were aiming to return to winning ways after their first league defeat of the season, a 1-0 loss to Devonshire Colts in their last outing under coach Quincy Hunt.

For St George’s, the match presented an opportunity to end a three-game winless streak, having secured just one point from a possible nine.

Football was not the only sport disrupted by today’s heavy rainfall. The inaugural Pickleball National Championships finals, scheduled to take place tonight at the WER Joell Tennis Stadium, have also been postponed. The matches will now be held on Sunday.
