Young footballers star on social media for academy in Spain

Young footballer Chazz Manning at the World of Sport Academy

Two young Bermudians have appeared in Instagram posts from a leading football academy in Spain to talk about their lifestyle.

Chazz Manning and Michael Burcher, both aged 14, show off some of their skills in front of the camera to encourage other aspiring footballers to join the World Sport Academy in Spain.

The two teenagers are both enrolled in the residency programme in the suburbs of Barcelona and are hoping to follow in the footsteps of stars such as Barcelona player Jordi Alba and Arsenal goalkeeper David Raya, who both spent time at the academy in their formative years.

In the short clip, Manning says he recommends the programme to young footballers for a number of reasons.

“I really recommend Wospac because the coaches are very encouraging,” he said.

“There are a lot of people here and you can mix with their cultures and different people from all around the world.

“Here in Wospac, you’re really pushed to your limits and can develop really good with great facilities. We have a pool, a gym and at the residence we have a restaurant downstairs where you can get food.

“I really recommend coming to Wospac if you really want to develop your level and train at a high intensity.”

Burcher is seen doing some tricks with the ball and is keen to point out the friendships he has made with young footballers from around the world.

“I recommend coming to Wospac because it is a really high level of football and the coaches are really good here,” Burcher said.

“You can meet a lot of new people from all international countries.

“The residence in Wospac is amazing and you share your own room with one or two people and you get to have free food and you get to study Spanish.”
