BSSF All-Star football finals postponed
Bad weather has forced the Bermuda Schools Sports Federation to postpone the All-Star football finals that were scheduled for PHC Field today.
With heavy rainfall predicted for the better part of the day, the BSSF took the decision to reschedule the matches, which would have seen the East take on the West, from primary to high school levels.
In a statement issued late yesterday, Manny Faria, BSSF administrator, stated that the impending weather conditions had influenced the decision.
“The BSSF regrettably announces that the 2024 All-Star football matches scheduled for Saturday at PHC Field have been postponed until the new year due to several factors which prevented the matches from being played,” Faria said.
Some of the island’s talented youngsters had been picked to play. Khari Sharrieff, Jayden Belboda Raveneau, Christia Lugo-Elibox, Xavier Thomas-Bassett, Chaz Edmead, Eva Tuzo and Kierra Broadley- Samuel were among an array of budding footballers who were meant to dazzle in the six matches that were scheduled for the day.
Aaron Lugo, Naquita Robinson, John Barry Nusum, Jensen Rogers, Kia Burchall, and Devarr Boyles were some of the island’s top junior football coaches that were supposed to take charge of the teams.
