The festive football calendar has been mapped out with the release of the dates and venues for the Friendship Trophy and Shield.

The Bermuda Football Association unveiled the Christmas fixtures on Monday afternoon with the near fortnight of knockout football getting under way with a double header on Friday night at Goose Gosling Field.

Somerset Eagles provide the appetiser in the Shield quarter-final final at 7pm before the Friendship Trophy quarter-final between Dandy Town and St George’s at 9pm. That is a rematch of last weekend’s Premier Division game, in which Town came out on top 5-1.

The action continues on Saturday night at PHC Field, with Southampton Rangers taking on Boulevard Blazers in the Shield at 7pm before PHC try to take advantage of home field when they play Wolves at 9pm in the Friendship Trophy.

The weekend is rounded off with double headers at Bernard Park, which will be hosting its first match for a number of months, and Wellington Oval.

At Bernard Park, Vasco will do battle in the Shield at 12pm, with North Village taking on Paget in the Friendship Trophy at 2pm. St David’s will play Robin Hood at Wellington Oval at midday in the Shield, with that game followed at 2pm by the Friendship Trophy quarter-final between Hamilton Parish and Young Men’s Social Club.

The semi-finals in both competitions will be split between Bernard Park and PHC Field on Boxing Day and December 27, with the finals taking place on New Year’s Day at Somerset Cricket Club
