Devonshire Cougars set to take on Paget
There is a Premier Division match tonight for those football fans willing to brave the elements.
Devonshire Cougars take on Paget at Devonshire Rec at 8pm, with the game set to take place in challenging conditions as temperatures are again forecast to be lower than the monthly average and winds predicted to be about 35mph at time of kick-off.
So although the gloves are likely to be on the hands of those watching from the sidelines, they will be off when the two teams take each other on, with both coming into the game off the back of good results in their last match.
Cougars, who sit seventh in the Premier Division on 11 points and just three points above the bottom two teams, drew 2-2 away at St George’s in their last match, with Domico Coddington again among the goals. They will be hoping to follow that result with another positive performance to ease any fears of being involved in a relegation battle in the latter stages of the season.
Paget pulled off a massive win on the road in their last game, beating Premier Division champions PHC 1-0 thanks to a first-half penalty from captain Diaje Hart.
Safely in mid-table in sixth position with 14 points, six behind league leaders Dandy Town and six points above bottom club Wolves, Paget will go above St George’s and put themselves on the fringes of the title race with victory.
