Nahki Wells on target as Bristol City draw away at Sheffield Wednesday

Nahki Wells was celebrating again

Nahki Wells netted his sixth goal of the season as Bristol City battled to a hard-fought 2-2 draw away at Championship rivals Sheffield Wednesday.

The Bermudian striker scored a 51st-minute equaliser for the travelling side after Sheffield winger Djeidi Gassama broke the deadlock in the sixteenth minute to give the home side the lead at Hillsborough Stadium.

City’s joy was short lived as defender Di'Shon Bernard, who was born in England but plays for Jamaica, restored Wednesday’s lead just two minutes later.

However, City refused to roll over and were rewarded for their perseverance when Scotland midfielder Ross McCrorie brought the teams level again in added time at the end of the second half to salvage a share of the spoils.

City, who are now winless in their past seven matches on the road, are ninth in the Championship standings, four points adrift of the final play-off position.
