Squad named for Concacaf under-17 qualifiers in Bermuda
Bermuda coach Aaron Lugo has said his squad are ready to take on the best in the Concacaf Under-17 qualifiers, which begin on island this week.
Some of the island’s most talented young players will take on Curacao, Anguilla, Turks & Caicos Islands and Canada at the Flora Duffy Stadium, and Lugo is excited for the challenge after the squad was named on Monday.
"This is an exciting time for Bermuda as we prepare to host the Under-17 Qualifiers.
“I hope the players are mentally preparing for it, the parents allow their boys to experience this on-island opportunity, and the entire island comes out and supports.
“Thank you to the backroom and coaching staff, the BFA, and all who made this opportunity possible. We will continue to work hard to make you all proud. Go Bermuda!”
Bermuda's campaign kicks off against Curacao at 8pm on Friday before they take on Anguilla at the same time on Sunday. A match against Turks & Caicos Islands follows on Wednesday, February 13 with a potential group decider taking place against group favourites Canada at 8pm on Saturday, February 16.
Tickets for all matches are now live on Gpass.bm only. Entry is $10 and cash transactions will not be accepted at the gate.
