Kole Hall helped his Chorley side defeat King's Lynn Town 1-0 in the Vanarama National League play-off eliminator on Tuesday night to keep their promotion hopes alive.

Mark Ellis’s 84th minute strike proved to be the difference between the two sides at Victory Park, with Bermuda forward Hall providing the game-winning assist.

With the game deadlocked and extra time looming, Hall drove Adam Blakeman’s clever pass from a free-kick across the box, where Ellis, who also had a header cleared off the line, tapped in a loose ball at the far post after Scott Wilson’s initial effort was saved.

Andy Preece’s team will now hit the road to take on Scunthorpe United at Attis Arena on Saturday in the National League North play-off semi-final.

Chorley secured their spot in the play-offs with a convincing 5-1 win over hosts Rushall Olympic in the final game of the National League North campaign, with Hall netting the fifth goal to cap a dominant display at Dales Lane.
