Robin Hood advanced into the semi-finals of the First Division Shield with a massive win over Vasco at Bernard Park on Saturday night.

Vasco, sporting former Bermuda international Antwan Russell among their ranks, had no answers to the vibrant and free attacking movements by their city rivals from the opening whistle.

Right back Kimani Davis opened the scoring as early as the eighth minute when he overlapped to pick up a pass before unleashing a screamer from 30 yards which left Vasco goalkeeper Zamir Smith clutching thin air as it rattled the back of the net.

Tokia Bean would double their lead after controlling Xahvi Deroza’s precision pass before turning and firing through Smith’s legs.

Sebastian Madeiros collected a diagonal cross and squeezed his shot into Smith’s near post to make it 3-0 after only 24 minutes. Deroza then picked up a short corner before cutting inside and unleashing a right-foot shot which curled into the top left corner leaving Smith helpless.

James Cooper beat the advancing Smith to a through ball before steering it into an empty net to score his first and the team’s fifth to close out the half.

Hood continued the rout in the opening minutes of the second half when Samuel Carolo collected the ball from a throw-in to beat Smith with a hard and low drive into the bottom left corner.

Such was Hood’s dominance that goalkeeper Curtis Jackson got among the goals with nearly his first touch of the game when he sent his opposite number the wrong way from the penalty spot after Smith had uprooted Davis in the box.

Deroza would score his second and the team’s eighth with a glancing header from close range before Cooper scored his second with a header of his own. Cory Booth would give his team double digits when his drive slipped through Smith’s hands and Cooper would then close out a good evening for Hood with his third and the team’s eleventh with a simple tap-in from close range.
