SSEP meet-and-greet to be held on City Hall lawn on Friday
A meet-and-greet for Summer Student Entrepreneur Program participants will be held on Friday from 11am to 2pm on the City Hall lawn.
It will be hosted by the Bermuda Economic Development Corporation.
During the meet-and-greet, participants in the programme will be on hand to explain their businesses and market them to the public.
The Summer Student Entrepreneur Program, which is in its sixth year, runs for eight weeks and started on July 3. This year, the nine participants range in age from 12 to 23.
They learnt about a wide range of business subjects, including revenue, creating a business plan and SWOT analyses.
This year’s participants include: Essence Davis, with Her Oh My Cake Bakery, a bakery focused on cakes and cupcakes; Jahmir Celestine, with The Nail Medic, which specialises in nail work; and Jazarah Codrington-Edmead, with Serene Scenes, a comic strip studio.
Fees for City of Hamilton parking and parking at Washington Mall will be waived for the event.
Deshun Simmons, programme co-ordinator, said: “As we enter Week 4 of the eight-week programme, we begin to see how the students’ businesses take shape, and this event aims to increase awareness of the programme and allows the students to strengthen their business skills.”
