Bermuda marked the second road death of 2021 after a motorcycle rider crashed just before 1am yesterday.

A police spokesman said officers found an unconscious man with a severe leg injury in the road about 1am.

They gave CPR to the victim, a 35-year-old from Smith’s, until medics arrived.

The man was taken by ambulance to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital, but later died.

The single vehicle crash happened on North Shore Road, Devonshire, just west of the junction with Cable Hill, near Terceira’s Gas Station.

The road was closed as police investigated and reopened at 2.45am.

A police spokesman said the victim would not be identified until next of kin were informed.

It was the second fatal crash in a week.

Oronde Wilson Jr, 28, died in a motorcycle crash on January 4 in Southampton.

Anyone with information on the latest death should call 211 or the main police line on 295-0011.
