Power restored to hundreds of homes in the East End
Power has been restored to hundreds of East End residents after an outage this morning.
According to the Belco outline outage map, 932 customers were without electricity as of 10am, but by about 11am power had begun to be restored.
The outage came after a thunderstorm passed over the island this morning.
The Bermuda Weather Service issued a severe weather watch for the island this morning, which joined a thunderstorm advisory that was already in effect.
Those warnings have been lifted, but a small craft warning remains in place.
The island can expect to experience unsettled conditions, including high wind gusts, with high winds forecast to continue throughout the day.
Motorists and commuters were warned to use care and caution when travelling the island’s roads.
