ʽWonderful surprise for all of us entering the school’
Youngsters at Somersfield Academy got into the Bermuda Day spirit with a set of stationary mini floats.
The pupils of Children’s House, which takes in children aged three to six, spent a week constructing the floats and set them up around the parking area of the Devonshire school.
Each exhibit was designed to showcase what the youngsters believed were important to Bermuda.
Classes highlighted the natural beauty of Bermuda, while others paid tribute to farmers and community resilience – the theme of the Bermuda Day Showcase.
Fellow pupils and their parents were treated to the colourful exhibits as well as festive music during morning drop-offs on Thursday and at the end of the school day when the children were collected.
A spokeswoman for Somersfield said the youngsters were keen to start the holiday weekend in “true Somersfield family fashion”.
She added: “The children were so proud of the work and wanted to showcase this to the public.
“This was such a wonderful surprise for all of us entering the school.”
