The City of Hamilton is on the lookout for island chefs to take part in a two-night drive-in food festival later this year.

The Taste of Bermuda: Drive-in Experience is expected to return to the city’s Par-la-Ville car park in September if the event is approved by the Government.

The food festival was designed to help boost restaurants in the city and admission will require a receipt for at least $25 from a Hamilton restaurant dated between August 26 and September 26.

Jessica Astwood, the city’s director of marketing and communications, said: “The city is looking for creative and dynamic food and beverage offerings to include in this year’s taste line up.

“Encouraged by the success of last year’s Taste of Bermuda: Drive-in Experience, which saw over $40,000 in receipts from city restaurants, we wanted to make this one even bigger with more food giveaways, live culinary stations and even more dynamic vendors.”

Ms Astwood said different eating experiences in Bermuda would be featured each night.

She added up to 1,000 samples of the food and drink featured in the festival would be given to event attendees on both nights.

Vendors interested in taking part in the event, to be held between September 24 and 26 should e-mail atucker@cityhall.bm.

Applications must be in by July 2.
