City to hold Covid-safe scavenger hunts to unearth Hamilton’s ‘treasures’
The City of Hamilton will be the home of citywide scavenger hunts next month in an effort to create a new Covid-safe event.
The hunts – scheduled to take place on July 23 and 24 – will allow teams to compete for a range of prizes.
Allison Tucker, senior events and marketing coordinator with the City, said: “The aim is to provide a safe and contactless event that will offer a new and educational experience for the people of Bermuda.
“We are encouraging residents to come and engage their senses, test their historical trivia, and think outside the box as they discover Hamilton.
“This event would make a fun family night out, date night or unique team-building activity.”
The event will take place over two “shifts” on each day, with scavenger hunts starting at 6pm and 7pm on Friday, July 23 and 2pm and 3.30pm on Saturday July 4.
Friday’s hunts are designed for adults, while Saturday’s hunts will be open to all ages.
Prizes will be awarded for the most creative team name and best team cheer, and prize for the fastest team will be announced at the completion of each day.
Those who want to take part must register online at least three days in advance to allow the City to control the number of participants and gather contact tracing information.
Entrants will also need to submit a $25 receipt from any City business to be eligible.
Ms Tucker added: “Each hunt has a maximum of 30 teams, so we are encouraging people to register early to secure a spot. We look forward to uncovering the City’s treasures with you!”
