HSBC brings Cup Match Magic to hospitals

Residents and caretakers at the Mid-Atlantic Wellness Institute show off their Cup Match gear donated by HSBC Bermuda (Photograph supplied)

HSBC showed the Bermuda Hospitals Board some “Cup Match magic” in the form of cricket equipment and other goods.

The bank’s Cup Match Motorcade drove passed the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital in Paget on Monday to set up special tables, which included goods such as team flags, for hospital workers.

The Motorcade also drove along the Mid-Atlantic Wellness Institute in Devonshire to set up more tables and give away ten sets of cricket equipment to residents.

The equipment will be split between residents at MWI and group homes for those with intellectual disabilities and seniors with mental health problems.

Mike Richmond, the chief executive officer and president of the BHB, said: “Thank you, HSBC, for including our staff, who often miss out on cup match festivities as they have to work and who have been under particular strain over the last 18 months due to the pandemic.

“We appreciate the love and support and wish everyone a wonderful cup match holiday.”

Tanya Bule, the head of wealth and personal banking & marketing for HSBC Bermuda, said: “Given everything that BHB has done and continues to do, in caring for our community during the pandemic, we felt it was important to show our appreciation while bringing some Cup Match cheer to them. Thank you from all of us at HSBC.”
