Crash on Middle Road injures two men

Two men have been injured in a “serious” three-vehicle crash, police said this afternoon.

A police spokesman said emergency services were alerted to a serious collision on Middle Road in Devonshire near the junction with Mayflower Drive just before 11am.

The spokesman said: “A car and two motorcycles were involved.

“Early information suggests that the car was being driven east along Middle Road and both motorcycles were being ridden in the opposite direction.

“The two male riders were injured and transported to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment – however the extent of their injuries is unknown at this time.”

The driver of the car, also a male, was not injured.

Traffic diversions were in place at Tee Street and Watlington Road West at noon as police examined the scene, but police said at 2.15pm the road had reopened.

Police have appealed for witnesses.
