A road to be renamed in honour of Bermuda’s first Olympic gold medal winner will be closed for more than an hour next Monday for a photoshoot.

The Ministry of Public Works said that Corkscrew Hill in Devonshire would be used as a backdrop for photographs sports superstar Flora Duffy.

The ministry announced its intention to rename Corkscrew Hill as Flora Duffy Hill earlier this month as part of a string of accolades for the triathlete.

The closure will be in force from 12.30pm to 1.45pm.

The ministry said: “The Ministry of Public Works encourages the full co-operation of the motoring public and apologises for any inconvenience that may result.”

Questions about the road closure should be directed to Curtis Charles, a public works construction and maintenance engineer, on 501-3036.
