A Christmas giveaway through social media has been announced by the City of Hamilton.

The City’s 12 Days of Giving runs from December 6 through 17, with prize gifts going to 24 winners via the City’s pages on Facebook, CityofHamiltonBda, and Instagram, @citylifebda.

Contestants can enter the contest by going to either page and following the steps for entry on each post.

Entrants should “like” the City’s page if following the contest on Facebook.

Entrants cannot win on Instagram and Facebook on the same day.

Sideya Dill, the City’s marketing coordinator, said there would be new prizes announced each day – with the public encouraged to check daily.

She added: “There will be one winner on Instagram and one winner on Facebook per day, so be sure to participate in both to double your chances.”

Ms Dill thanked participating businesses who provided gifts.

The posts will go up each day at noon and close each day at midnight.

Winners will be announced at 10am the following day.

Prizes include an artificial Christmas tree, a turkey and ham partly sponsored by The MarketPlace, a gift voucher for lunch, a Samsung 50in smart LED TV, and a two-night stay at the Hamilton Princess.

Others prizes include a SuperMart grocery voucher, a professional Christmas photoshoot sponsored by Donovin Seymour Photography; a charitable donation to the winner’s choice of charity, a deluxe gift basket by Marks & Spencer; a gas voucher, and gift wrapping supplies sponsored by Brown & Co.
