Trash collection schedules will be changed next week because of the Christmas holidays.

Trash normally collected on Monday will be picked up on Wednesday, and Tuesday’s waste will be collected on Thursday.

Wednesday’s waste will be collected on December 31, and Thursday and Friday’s waste will be collected on January 2.

The holiday season will also affect collection schedules into the new year, with collections from January 3 to January 7 a day later than usual.

The City of Hamilton has advised city residents and businesses that there will be a break in collections in the coming week.

There will be no collections after 10pm on Friday until December 29.

Collections will also cease from 10pm on New Year’s Eve and restart on January 4.

Recycling in the west will be collected on December 30 and in the east on December 31.

The Tynes Bay incinerator will be closed on Christmas Day but open between 7am and 7pm on December 26.

It will be open from 9am until midday next Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.

Christmas trees will be collected from western parishes west of Tee Street on January 15, and from eastern parishes on January 22.
