Applications for PRCs under new rules now being accepted

Applications for Permanent Resident’s Certificates are now being accepted under broader rules for eligibility.

PRCs can now be granted to anyone who has lived in Bermuda for at least 20 years after amendments were made to the law last year.

Also eligible are non-Bermudian parents of a child with Bermudian status who have lived on the island for at least 15 years.

The amendments came into force on December 1 and application forms available online from the Department of Immigration.

For more information, contact the department at 246 8093.

The headline of this story has been corrected to show that applications for PRCs under wider rules are being accepted, not for Bermudian status.
