Charities have been invited to receive first-hand training on board development.

The Inter-Agency Committee for Children, Families and the Community will hold a three-part virtual training series targeted at new or less experienced non-profit board members, as well as anyone interested in joining a non-profit board.

Shana Williams, the programme manager for IAC, said: “IAC’s Board Development series was designed with the intention of strengthening the efficacy of non-profit governance in Bermuda.

“The importance of the third sector has never been greater and board leadership is a key component of its success.

“I encourage both new and seasoned non-profit board members to register and become informed with current developments in board best practices.”

The series will run on May 5, June 2 and July 7 from 5pm to 7pm. Danielle Riviere, of OD Solutions, will host the series.

Admission for non-members is $100 while members will pay $20. Non-profits can register online for membership that costs $35 a year.
