BUEI to hold spring market
A spring market showcasing local vendors and artists is on offer this Saturday at the Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute on Crow Lane.
The market was billed as a chance to buy Mother’s Day gifts in a safe setting.
More than 20 vendors will sell their wares on all three levels of the BUEI from 10am to 3pm.
Items for sale include women’s clothing, jewellery, herbal tea, luxury handbags, candles, aromatherapy oils and diffusers, Bermuda cedar goods, children’s books and toys, home decor, and baked goods.
The BUEI said the event followed on the success of the annual Harbourside Market, traditionally held in November and December.
Wendy Wilson, executive officer, said the extra market would benefit local businesses.
BUEI will provide a free screening of two films throughout the day its Tradewinds Auditorium.
The 2016 romantic comedy Mother’s Day starts at 11am, and the 2006 drama Akeelah the Bee airs at 1pm.
Tram rides through Hamilton are available from 11am and 2pm for $5 per person, with children under 2 riding for free.
The market comes with free admission and parking.
Masks are not mandatory, but encouraged where social distancing is not possible.
BUEI exhibits will remain open for the market. For further details, e-mail exec@buei.bm.
