Auto show lines up big array of entertainment
An auto show has organised an “exciting” line-up of entertainment when it takes over Front Street next month.
Motor Fest, Scooter Mart’s annual motor charge, was originally scheduled to have a dance routine and emcee – but now the event will feature dance routines, athletic feats and even a big wheel BMX show.
Whitney Butterfield, a spokeswoman for the Bermuda Charge Event Committee, confirmed that Kallie Marcus and Diamond Dill of Natural Movement will hold aerial acrobatics and stilt walking demonstrations at the start of the show.
She added they would be joined by the Bermuda Jump Rope Federation, Vision School of Dance and the BMX group Project Ride-Out.
Ms Butterfield said: “We're so thankful for these groups who have committed to rehearsal time and performances to thrill spectators.
“It truly demonstrates the team spirit that our island is known for."
Most of the performances will take place in front of the Flagpole on Front Street. To the west of the Flagpole will be environmentally friendly vehicles and products, including a Tesla Model X from Piece of the Rock Limousines.
Exhibitions to the east will explore the culture and history of motor vehicles in Bermuda.
Show-ready vehicles will be on display throughout the exhibition and will compete in the Best in Show awards for a $3,000 cash prize.
Winning motorcycles will be displayed on a red carpet at the prize presentation.
Spectators will also be offered free merchandise such as shirts, hats and beach gear created by the show’s sponsors. Food vendors and children’s entertainment will also be available.
A charity ride-out with 300 motorcyclists will complete the charge.
The event will take place on July 3.
