Baha’i community’s conference to improve conditions facing society
Bermuda’s Baha’i community joined with thousands of others to host a conference intended to improve the conditions that face society.
The conference, held on Friday and Saturday at the Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute, was one of many organised around the world as part of a wider initiative to “apply the society-building principles of the Baha’i faith to achieve more just, unified and peaceful communities”.
A spokeswoman for the Bermuda Baha’i community said that more than 70 people representing multiple sectors of the community took part in the conference.
“New connections were made and established ones were strengthened,” the spokeswoman said. “Ideas were discussed for potential co-operation in helping Bermuda progress towards peace and prosperity.
“During the conference, small group breakout consultations were intense, fruitful and infused with optimism about Bermudian resourcefulness and resilience.
“To address the anticipated challenges in the coming years, attendees expressed the need for solidarity, compassion and mutual co-operation to become the norm on our island.”
