Police name 22-year-old woman who died in a road crash in Southampton
Police named the victim of a road crash on Thursday as 22-year-old Troni Aisha Robinson-Burgess.
A man has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving in connection with the accident, which also seriously injured a 21-year-old woman who is being treated in ICU.
Police said that at about 11.43pm on Thursday, July 28, officers and other emergency personnel attended the scene of a serious road traffic collision on South Road, Southampton, just west of Horseshoe Road, involving two motorcycles.
A police spokeswoman said: “It appears that Miss Robinson-Burgess, along with her 21-year-old female pillion passenger, were travelling in a westerly direction and a 27-year-old man was travelling in the opposite direction, when their motorcycles were in involved in a collision.
“The 27-year-old man has been arrested for suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. Sadly, Miss Robinson-Burgess was pronounced dead at the scene by an attending physician.
“At last check, the 21-year-old woman remained in ICU, being treated for what has been described as serious injuries. The 27-year-old man has also been admitted into hospital for treatment of his injuries. The extent of his injuries is not known at this time.
“We want to extend our sincere condolences to the family and loved ones of Miss Robinson-Burgess.”
