Police have identified a man found dead on a Warwick Beach as 63-year-old Malcolm Stovell Jr.

A police spokesman said: “Shortly before 6pm on August 28, police responded to a report of a lifeless body washed ashore on a beach, near Astwood Walk in Warwick, later identified as Mr Stovell.

“The 63-year-old, understood to be a Warwick resident, is believed to have been swimming in the ocean shortly before the discovery of his body.

“The investigation surrounding the circumstances of Mr Stovell’s sudden death continues.”

The spokesman urged anyone who may have been in the Astwood Walk, Warwick area — particularly those near 100 Steps Beach — at about 6pm on Sunday to call 211 or e-mail 211@bps.bm as soon as possible.
