RBRA seeks to recruit more members
The Royal Bermuda Regiment Association is calling on current and former members of the regiment, the Bermuda Rifles or the Bermuda Militia Artillery to join the organisation.
Formed in February 2020, the RBRA aims to promote and maintain the tradition and wellbeing of the regiment and its predecessors.
It also seeks to build community, foster inclusivity and advocate for the welfare of both active soldiers and veterans.
RBRA president Peter Aldrich said: “Since September 1, 1965, over 13,000 soldiers and officers have served in the Regiment.
“We have a solid membership of around 210 persons both in Bermuda and overseas and we are looking to connect with as many former soldiers and affiliates as possible to build our membership.”
Cliff Lambert was one of the first members of the amalgamated regiment in 1965. He is the RBRA’s sergeant major and chairman of the membership committee.
He said: “The regiment has positively influenced many, many young men and women and made a profound impact on Bermuda’s social environment dating back to 1965.
“It is important that we support each other and embrace the importance of our military service and foster that pride in our regiment and our country by joining the association today. We will be looking for you.”
Active members of the regiment and coastguard as well as former and retired soldiers are welcome to join the association.
Basic membership is $20 a year but is free for members aged 65 or over.
