Wild wigs and silly hairstyles were all the rage yesterday for people raising money for cancer research and treatment.

Pals’ tenth annual Mad Hair Day had 38 schools and businesses donning their craziest hairstyles to celebrate a decade of fundraising on behalf of the charity.

A Pals spokeswoman said that more than 4,500 people registered to take part this year — the most they had seen since the start of the pandemic.

She added: “Mad Hair Day is one of our major fundraisers for the year.

“It brings community awareness as well as raising funds to help care for cancer patients of Bermuda.

“Pals does not receive any government grants for operating expenses and all donations — individual, corporate and general fundraising — is greatly appreciated.”
