An annual Christmas shopping event will offer tram rides and entertainment for people wishing to buy locally this holiday season.

The Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute’s Harbourside Market will return on November 19 and December 3 and offer products from 30 Bermudian vendors.

Karla Lacey, the BUEI chief executive officer, said: “For nearly a decade, BUEI’s Harbourside Market has been a showcase for unique gift ideas from local vendors and a must-visit destination for holiday shopping.

“We’re excited to continue the tradition this year.”

The markets will be spread out along the BUEI building’s three levels and offer gifts such as clothing, jewellery, toys and home decor.

Shoppers will also hear a musical preview of this year’s pantomime by the Bermuda Musical and Dramatic Society.

BUEI will also hold screenings of The Grinch and Jingle Jangle: A Christmas Journey each day in its Tradewinds Auditorium.

The Grinch, the 2018 version of the classic Dr Seuss story, will start at 11am, while Jingle Jangle, a 2020 live-action film starring Forrest Whitaker, will be from 2pm.

Tram rides will take attendees throughout Hamilton between 11am and 2pm. Riders can join for $5 per person, while children aged under two years can ride for free.

Food and free parking and admission will also be available for attendees. Normal BUEI exhibits will be closed during this time.

The Harbourside Market will run from 10am to 4pm.
