Sunday forecast: snow set to fall for Court Street market
A double serving of a popular market on the streets of North Hamilton will return tomorrow and again on December 18.
The retailers of Court Street will be out for the Court Street Market from noon until 5pm on Sunday and noon until 6pm two weeks later.
As the area gears up for Christmas, the market will introduce a new feature — a section where children can play in artificial snow.
The market comes with music and song as well as dining.
Gary Augustus, a spokesman for the event, said it brought out the merchants and invited vendors to sell their merchandise along Court Street from Victoria to Elliot Street, which will go pedestrian for the afternoon.
He added: “All the shops on Court Street will be open, such as Jamaican Grill, Soul Food Grill and Café Connections Boutique, Toxic Rose, She Rebels, Taste the Rainbow, Nadz Beauty Supply, Klassic Kids, along with a host of vendors.
“Live entertainment will accompany the shopping and sights, from singers to dancers.
“To top it off, you can win a prize just for shopping at the market. Our prizes were donated by some of the shop owners in the area — and also we have items that have been donated by the Bermuda Industrial Union, the Hamilton Princess Hotel, Divots and Thyme Restaurant.”
Mr Augustus said area vendors were grateful that “everyone is showing their support for Court Street”.
“But we would like a special thank you to our two major sponsors — the Corporation of Hamilton and the Bermuda Economic Development Corporation, along with all the store owners in the uptown area.”
Mr Augustus invited the community to “bring a chair, sit off and enjoy the day. Shop Bermuda and shop on Court Street.”
